Happy New Year to YOU, Too!

One week ago today, at about 2 am, I drove into our driveway and I thought to myself, "This is it! This is the  official start of our New Year!"

We'd just spent 9 days in Virginia with extended family right after Christmas. It was wonderful (for the most part) and I can't wait to share more of it with you! (And pictures too!)

But have you ever heard the little notion that what you're doing when you ring in the New Year is what you'll be doing all year long???

I'm just hoping we can go with my "real" New Year and not what we've been dealing with in our "we're back home New Year?!"

On the "real" New Year, I toasted family & friends an kissed my husband & children!

Since our "we're back home New Year," I've been driving back & forth to doctor's appointments, driving between out-of-stock pharmacies, putting drops in eyes, ears, and measuring out antibiotics, doling out the vitamins and probiotics, talking to nurses on the phone after hours, taking temperatures, and keeping the heating pad warm. ::Sigh::

The Arsenal

And a little bit of schoolwork here & there... AND de-decorating from Christmas?!

So that's why the blog header up there still says "Merry Christmas" and why there haven't been any new posts in ages! LOL

Yep, even while we were away Lawrie was complaining about painful ears, so I'd already planned on taking him in to be seen and sure enough, he had an ear infection. But to add insult to injury, when Ellie woke up on that Saturday morning that we arrived home, her eyes were crusted shut. :-( Double pink eye.

Danny was next with the painful ear, but opted to tough it out at home with my homeopathic treatments... then Sam was next & she got. it all. Poor girl has an ear infection, eye infection, and a touch of sinusitis.

So we've been a busy bunch... sick, medicating, trying to keep from passing around germs (but doing it anyway...) and recovering. Thankfully everyone's on the upswing!

I praise the Lord it hasn't been any worse for us! (The flu is running rampant in our area...) And with an unexpectedly beautiful day outside... sunny & 70 degrees... we're gonna air out the house, get some sun... and take down the Christmas lights?! LOL

I pray y'all are all feeling better soon! That does NOT sound like a fun way to start a new year. For what it's worth, we're all relatively healthy here and we STILL haven't bothered to take down the Christmas lights, so I think y'all get a pass! :)
