Maybe you could tell by my updated blog header {no more Christmas greeting...} but I am
f i n a l l y starting to get back into my stride. It feels so comfy. LOL
Since that is the case, I can't think of a better way to kick off this New Year than by sharing with all of you a little more about the incredible opportunity that I have in April to speak at the Titus 2:1 Conference!
If you happen to be new here, you can learn more about me and my family over on the "about" page... read about a few things I shared with last year's 2:1 Conference friends... and get more of a peek into my heart by reading my "inspiration" posts.
At the 2:1 Conference this April, I'm thrilled to be presenting a workshop entitled "From Homeschool Graduate to Homeschool Mom: Homeschooling So Your Kids Will Want to Too!"
I am really looking forward to sharing my homeschooling story with you! It began with my parents pulling me out of public middle school in December of 1993, just prior to the winter break of my 8th grade year and continues to this very day, as I have now assumed the role of homeschooling Mom myself.
| This is me. Making homeschool look cool... Ha! |
I was not blessed with a particularly wealthy family... or even a highly educated one... but I was born into a family that believed in the power of education to guide a life. My Mom & Dad believed that a person could learn to do pretty much anything they wanted to do and they proved that to me time and time again throughout my childhood and particularly my homeschooling years as we worked together as a family to accomplish the building of a house, the raising and nurturing of a flock of geese, the running of a local political campaign, the management of a business, and even the building of an experimental aircraft!

In the years since I've been homeschooling my own children, I regularly find my thoughts returning to my own homeschooling experiences and to those things that my parents did that made me not only thrive educationally, but inspired me to carry on a legacy of homeschooling.
The things that have always stood out to me were the ways my parents inspired us... included us... instructed us... and involved us. My goal in April is to share with y'all how I have taken the wonderful attributes my parents displayed in homeschooling me & my sister and adapted them for our family AND to help others see that they can begin working on building a homeschooling legacy right now!
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in being a part of, be sure to join us April 12th-14th in Herndon, VA for the 2:1 Conference!
In the meantime, take a few minutes to get to know some of the other wonderful speakers that will be at the Conference...
